Tamil Nadu state government after the several demands of parents has published the fee structure recommended by Justice Govindarajan Committee for all 10,233 unaided schools in the state on its official website. A 955 page document list all the schools including 701 schools which did not respond to the questionnaire from the government asking for their current fee details, based on which the committee had made the recommendations.
The updated fee structure in the "What's new section" of www.tn.gov.in shows the fees from LKG to 12th Standard. This move was made by the state government after a legal notice was sent to it at the beginning of the week saying that "unless parents are made aware of the fee structure ordered by the said committee for the schools, they would not be in a position to file any complaint against the schools violating the orders of the high court."
The Madras High Court has already ruled that schools which have collected the fees more than the prescribed by the committee should be considered as the excess amount deposited till the committee releases the revised fee structure.
