Scale of Pay : PB2 Rs.9300 - 34800 + Grade pay Rs.4700/- p.m. for all posts.

Age Limit (as on 01.07.2010) : Should not have completed 30 years

Educational Qualification :-
Assistant Engineer (Civil) in Building organization, PWD and Assistant Engineer (Civil) in Water Resources Organization, PWD :-
B.E. degree in Civil Engineering or Civil and Structural Engineering of any University or Institution recognized by the University Grants Commission for the purpose of its grants.
OR
A pass in Sections A and B of the Institution Examinations under Civil Engineering branch, subject to the following further conditions namely :-
(i) Should furnish evidence of having undergone practical training in surveying for a period of not less than one year. or
(ii) Should have put in service for a period of not less than one year in Public Works Department as Overseer or Junior Engineer. or
(iii) Should hold the Upper Subordinate or L.C.E. Diploma of the College of Engineering, Guindy or L.C.E. Diploma awarded by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Chennai.

Assistant Engineer (Electrical) in PWD :-
A degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics and Communication Engineering;
OR
A pass in Sections A and B of the Institution Examination with Electrical Engineering as a subject.

Assistant Engineer in the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department :-
A B.E. Degree in Civil Engineering of any University or Institution recognised by the University Grants Commission for the purpose of its grant.
OR
A pass in Sections A and B of the Institution of Engineers (India) under Civil Engineering Branch, subject to the condition that he/she should furnish evidence of having undergone practical training in surveying for a period of not less than one year.

Assistant Engineer (Civil) in Highways Department :-
A degree in Civil Engineering of any University or Institution recognised by the University Grants Commission for the purpose of its grants;
OR
A pass in Sections A and B of the Institution Examinations under Civil Engineering Branch.

Assistant Inspector of Factories :-
A Degree in Mechanical or Production or Industrial or Electrical or Chemical Engineering or Textile Technology of any University or Institution recognized by the University Grants Commission for the purpose of its grant.

Junior Electrical Inspector :-
A degree in Electrical Engineering of any University or Institution recognized by the University Grants Commission for the purpose of its grant.

Procedure of Selection :
Selection will be made in two successive stages i.e., (i) Written Examination and (ii) Oral Test in the shape of an interview.

Date of Written Examination 24-10-2010 10.00 A.M. to 1.00 P.M.

How to Apply :
Filled in applications on OMR forms (available at the posts offices in Tamil Nadu/ Pudducherry on payment of Rs.30/-) (Also available at the TNPSC website) must be sent to the Controller of Examinations, Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission, No.1, Greams Road, Commercial Tax Building Annexe, Chennai – 600006 by Registered Post / Speed Post well in advance so as to reach the Commission’s Office before 5.45 p.m. on 13/08/2010.
